Fix Offline Basemaps

Where do I even start? Offline Basemaps is barely usable in its current form. Here is a list of problems that NEED to be addressed ASAP;
- Airplane is mode is required for the downloaded maps to display properly. When connected to cell service, the app tries to pull the imagery from the cloud instead of the downloaded map. This results in blurry, unusable imagery when service is poor.
2.The geometry window on IOS often shows low quality imagery even if an offline basemap is downloaded.
- The download window is atrocious. It needs to be able to change aspect ratio and orientation to avoid downloading extraneous area. You should also to be able to see records and other layers in the download window to provide context for what you are downloading.
- Downloads often crash, deleting the download progress. The progress should be saved and the download should resume when connection improves.
P.S. What happened to the imagery cache? It barely works and resets every time I close the fulcrum app. in previous years, when I would look at an area while in service, it would save the imagery in the cache and I could view satellite imagery offline. That honestly worked a lot better than the current offline basemaps features, which is causing efficiency issues in the field.
Sincerely,
A proud Fulcrum user wanting better

Agree with all of the above. In addition, if we forget to apply airplane mode while still in wifi or strong cellular signal, then when we are out of all range we often have nothing on Fulcrum- no base map, no mbtile layers, no gps and no ability to collect data or even see where we are. We work in a massive and extremely remote area so we spend 95% of our time out of wifi and cellular range. This problem can sometimes happen even if we do apply airplane mode prior to leaving.
Have tried downloading base maps (not preferenced plus our area is way too big to download enough images), caching Google imagery (which used to work perfectly and no longer does) and caching ESRI maps (doesn’t work)
We have used Fulcrum for nearly 10 years and it used to be 100% reliable. This is no longer the case and for us it is becoming inefficient, confusing, frustrating.

Hi Pete Zagorski,
Thank you for taking the time to write us and detail the challenges you are experiencing with Offline Basemaps. I want to assure you that we are taking these suggestions and feedback seriously.
We are currently in the process of prioritizing the next few months of work, and improvements to Offline Basemaps are near the top of the list. Your second point is a bug that we'll be addressing in the coming weeks.
I can keep you updated on our progress and if/when improvements are available to beta test.
