Google Maps engine is being retired — switch to Esri Maps before September 1

On September 1, 2026, Fulcrum is retiring the legacy Google Maps engine. Any organization still using Google Maps as their default map engine — on web or mobile — will be automatically switched to Esri Maps on that date.

Esri Maps now includes Google's Satellite, Hybrid, and Street basemaps as options in the layer picker, so you keep the same imagery quality along with the full set of GIS capabilities built on Esri:

On mobile
— the redesigned Location Editor for creating Lines and Polygons, GPS Tracks and background tracking, and Offline Basemaps for reliable maps without a connection in the field.
On web
— Lines and Polygons with snapping, and direct connectivity to your ArcGIS Online or Enterprise Feature Service Layers. Also, checking out the new Lasso Tool — draw a freehand selection on the map to bulk edit or bulk delete records at once.

Switch now rather than wait for the automatic change:
